Profile

Having spent the last 9.5 years following a life long dream of playing professional rugby, I am exploring opportunities for a return to the 'real' workforce. I feel that in this time I have gained valuable life experiences which will put me in good stead for my future career. 

I have been out of the Land Surveying field for some time, but the experience gained working as a Graduate Surveyor (2001-2006) will provide a good base to re-enter the surveying field at a junior/graduate or technician surveyor, albeit with more life experience than a recent graduate.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Land Surveying

University of Otago - New Zealand (1997-2001).

  • Open Degree (with a business focus) - not complete

Open University - United Kingdom (2013 - present)​

Recently I have returned to study part-time via distance learning through The Open University here in the UK. I expect to complete this within the next 2-3 years.

  • Ability to take instruction and carry out tasks efficiently

  • Has shown the tenacity, determination and commitment to perform consistently well in the 2nd teir of English Rugby for the past 9 years

  • Willing to do what it takes to get jobs completed on schedule

  • Works well in a team environment, but, also has the ability to work independantly

 
Comunication
  • Effective client consultaton - both written and verbal

  • Good communications skills within the work place

 

Leadership
  • Poven leader on the rugby field and also in field party situations

  • Ability to supervise, mentor and train junior surveyors or field assistants

 

Computer/Instrumentation Skills
  • Competent with 12D, Landonline, AutoCad and other instrument interface software
  • Competent with Leica GPS and Total Stations

  • Have worked with Trimble machine guidance technology
